Making an unrestricted donation through the Areas of Greatest Need fund allows the College the maximum flexibility to adapt and respond to changing pressures, support new initiatives and research, and maintain our historic fabric, as and when opportunities or need arises. How this fund is spent varies each year with members of the College community invited to make suggestions on expenditure.

In the past three years, selected projects include Bursaries for European women in STEM, summer internships in museums and libraries, matched funding for the new Trinity Plus programmes, support for disabled students via new smart technology to give visually impaired students easier access around College, Conservation of library collections, Additional COVID Hardship Funds, Post-doc Research Grants, Bird / bat boxes, Improvements to the Photographic Studio, Tripos prizes for subjects with no endowed prizes, and much more.

We are very grateful for the challenge and matched funding provided by a number of generous donors, including the Rosa Riganti Foundation
